Private coaching

The work. The relationship. What it asks of you.

A six-month private coaching engagement for executives, entrepreneurs, and accomplished leaders ready to think clearly about what they are leading, building, or becoming.

Who this is for

A specific kind of person at a specific kind of moment.

This coaching is not defined by a client’s age or job title. It is for accomplished people at moments when the decisions ahead require more than technical expertise or another conventional strategy.

You may be leading through growth, increased complexity, or organizational change. You may be building a company and facing decisions that are difficult to discuss with employees, investors, or family. You may have sold a business, left a senior role, or encountered an unexpected disruption. Or you may simply recognize that the ambitions and assumptions that carried you this far need to be reconsidered.

You are capable, thoughtful, and still ambitious. You are not looking for someone to hand you generic answers. You want a trusted thought partner who will help you examine the right questions, challenge your assumptions, and turn clarity into deliberate action.

The moments that bring people to Brett

Taking on greater leadership responsibility or navigating organizational complexity.

Building or scaling a business while confronting consequential strategic and personal decisions.

Leaving a senior role, selling a company, or considering an entirely new direction.

Recovering from an unexpected career disruption without allowing the disruption to define what comes next.

Approaching retirement with no interest in simply winding down.

Redefining success after realizing that achievement alone is no longer a sufficient measure.

What the work explores

The questions successful people rarely get to sit with seriously.

The coaching does not follow a fixed curriculum. It follows you — your situation, your history, your questions, and the decisions that actually matter at this point in your life.

Across six months, the work may explore leadership, strategic decisions, professional identity, ambition, relationships, energy, contribution, and the way you want to live. The precise agenda follows your situation. The common objective is greater clarity about what matters, more honest choices, and meaningful movement on the decisions that have remained unresolved.

These are not soft questions. For accomplished people, they are among the most challenging and most important work available to them.

Brett’s approach

I do not tell clients what to want. I create the conditions in which serious people can think clearly.

My approach draws on doctoral research in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, 25 years of international corporate leadership, extensive executive-coaching experience, and my own experience of building and selling a business, navigating profound loss, and reinventing my work and life more than once.

I am direct. I will challenge you when you are settling or avoiding. I will also listen carefully enough to hear what you are not yet saying. The goal is not to make you feel good about the questions. The goal is to help you answer them.

The engagement

Private, focused, and built for depth.

One to onePrivate coaching only
Six monthsBi-weekly sessions
LimitedSmall number of clients

Brett works with a small number of clients at any given time. This is intentional. The work requires genuine attention, and genuine attention requires limits.

By the end of the engagement, clients typically have greater clarity about what matters, a more deliberate direction, and concrete decisions and actions that move their leadership, business, or life forward.

The first step

Begin with one honest conversation.

Tell Brett a little about where you are and what you are thinking about. He will respond personally and, if the fit seems right, invite you to a private 30-minute conversation. If he does not believe the work is the right fit, he will say so honestly.
